A chilling, almost haunting pace accompanies Annie's vocals. She speaks of 'Sylvia' with her 'dark stars tatooed across her face / tiny bruises black and blue' as if we're dealing with a girl who deals with domestic violence or just violence in her life.

'She wants to fall into a deep deep sleep so she can forget herself' reveals a disturbing realisation of the girl's emotions through the eagerness and telling hunger of Lennox's vocals (however soft they may be).
