Track : SOMEBODY TOLD ME
(From Album 'Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This')When I first heard the beginning of the track I thought of Halls & Oates 'Method Of Modern Love' I could even see the video! Can't you always? Especially where the Eurythmics are concerned, but anyway, on to the track in question.
To be honest, 'Somebody Told Me' is nothing especially different from the rest of the tracks on 'Sweet Dreams' but Annie sounds good, and the lyrics suggest that she's describing a betrayal of sorts. 'Somebody Told Me' she whines, 'I didn't / couldn't believe it / I'm still reeling' but 'oh, oh' she finishes, her voice throughout the song reflective of the scenario being recalled.
