Track : SING - SING (From Album 'In The Garden')
Sung entirely in French, one feels the need to translate the lyrics in order to find not only a meaning within the song, but why Annie and Dave employ the sounds of chickens in the background mid-way through!
There are also signs of chimes, mechanical devices and all sorts of other things they could get their hands on during production it seems! Of course, it all becomes a bit more clear when translated. Annie speaks of the city life and it's pitfalls - the weekly cheques, animals arriving, people on various modes of transport (which explains the mechanics and those chickens perhaps?).
It is horror she says, but life, ending with the irony of 'almost life'. It's clear that she's uninpressed by the urban life she's describing.
