In this track, Annie touches on the media 'in the dancehalls and the cinema / on the TV - Shame' she says. It appears that she's taking a crack at the lifestyle people create for themselves and how we all view it as something so amazing - putting people like 'The Beatles and The Rolling Stones / Day After Day' on some sort of pedestal. Each line ends with 'shame' - which holds the message in one word including the title of the song.
